ok so i have done everything i can to make this damn thing work and still nothing. i have read all the boards and done all the suggested fixes and still nothing. so i finally call autometer and guess what they say that if you modify the computer in any way it will cause pin 10 to stop working :bsflag: they have talked to engineers and nobody can explain why this happens again :bsflag: so now i have to buy the damn module for 70 dollars and hope this works. i can not believe they say that pin 10 stops working once you modify the computer jeesh!!!!

Maybe your wire has a short in it or the PCM just has a bad lead. Have you tried a different PCM?

i have tried two pcm's and nothing. i have access to dealerworld (gm's website for techs) and have follwed the flow chart and i can not get any of the results per the flow chart. which it states to replace pcm but i have done that as well.

wow, that is totally weird. You're 100% sure you're checking pin 10, white wire and not pin 13? The wire is in the green or red PCM connector? Did you verify the wire connector is pushed all the way inside the PCM wiring assembly?

yea i have tried and retried. in the flow chart is says to disconnect the green connector and check for the voltage. it just isn't there. by looking at the schematic for the dash i can see why they tell you to disconnect the connector. the tach has an ignition soure and an OBDII source so by tessting at the connector you should have the 9.5 v it is asking for. but i don't i am at a total loss on this one i have to be missing something. and remember i am not using a new dash either it is the 1987 dash not that it makes a difference
