Oh My God, I Love The Ls2

i was just looking up some info on the ls2 engine, researching a cam. hold sh!t, gm high tech put a livernoise stage on cam in and had it on the engine dyno, with stock gm tune it kicked out 90hp. thats ridiculous. i think im putting in a cam before anything else. the headers will still go on but they are gonna wait. i think its gonna go : install what i have now e-fans, tune, then cam it then get the trans ready real quick before it explodes like every other gm product i've owned has done. then headers i think I've decided to get a nice set of headers with high flow cats, because emissions testing is coming here in the next two years or so they say. and then i wont feel guilty about dumping junk into the environment.

Yeah dude, they are pretty stout motors--and can easily be modded to produce WAY more power than what they come with from the factory... Either it be the TBSS, GTO, G8, etc. the LS2 is one bad bitch!

i heard that the g8 wasn't getting the ls2. everything i have read says aluminum 6 liter but nothing has said ls2. maybe im just picking but i've just never seen any article say ls2. the ls2 isn't offered with the cylinder deactivation stuff.

oh and i have stayed up till 2am researching cams and have decided on the tr220. i thought about the 224 but decided to go am little less because it is still the family hauler and the hp difference between them is minimal the 220 actually make 10-15 more torque which i feel the heavy suv needs.

I saw a flyer at the GM performance display in Houston this weekend and they listed the LS3 as the engine for the G8.

Just went to the Pontiac site and they list the 6.0 LS2 as the engine Give me the LS3!

I sure love my wifes TBSS. I would buy her a Honda in a second so I could drive the SS everyday.

If it is a LS2 in the GT G8, it is tuned down. The GX? is getting the LS3. I believe the GX? comes out '09.

the ls3 is the same displacement but is a higher compression 6.2. when comparing think lq9 vs. lq4 with the ls3 being the lq9 and the l76 being the lq4. im gonna branch out and say the GT will get the LS2 for one year then switch to a massaged l76(around 403-420 hp) then the GPX will come in a year later with the LS3. im wanting a G8 El Camino!!!
