I am wrapping up my 5.3 swap in my 1993 OBS (FINALLY)....and just got stumped with my shift linkage. I used the S&P style motor mounts and it moved my tranny back about 1 inch. I didn't think this would be an issue because I figured the stock linkage to the 4L60E would allow for this additional reach. I was correct, but what I didn't figure on was the addition of the Shift Selection Module on the side of the transmission. It is the black box that tells the computer what gear the tranny is in. The linkage hits it solid and will not allow it to rotate. Two questions:
Do I still need this box? (I think all it does is not let my truck start if its any other gear besides park)
Can I adapt a 96 up shift linkage to work with my 93 column.
I appreciate all the help.
Thanks,
Cody B.
