    Talking killed a 454ss

I was on my way back from the shop when i got behind a black early 90's chevy ,looked like it had been lowered and had nice wheels. I got beside him and the light turned red so i shot him a rev and and he revved back so it was on!I hit 4hi because it was slick concrete stalled to about 2200,the light changed and i left him. I could hear spinning but at 50 i was 4 lenghs ahead so i slowed down.He caught up,rolled down the window and said i couldnt get grip you wanna go outta town.I said sure and we headed for the highway. There was no traffic so we stopped side by side and he did a killer top fuel style burnout and i was like daaaammmnn. We left on three and he pulled a fender but i caught up halfway thru first, left him after that.We pulled over and he was like WTF you got in that thing,i told him him a 5.3 and hes like this is a worked 454ss and that 5.3 left me sittin'. I was real pleased my 4800lb 4x4 smoke a 454ss like that, sorry for the long post but im pretty excited!

yea they are bad gas guzzlers. stock they are slow.. but once they get a nice cam heads an intake they will light up every gear with no problem. but when you do those mods you lose even more mpg lol my friends brother is trying to sell his because he gets 5mpg in it..

A 454SS cam stock with...get this...230 hp. They were actually kinda slow stock--but if this guy had a ''worked'' 454, he obviously didn't "work it" enough...

TBI killed the big block for performance purposes. A 454 driver who is serious about going fast would ditch the fuel injection and cam/head/carb her out with some old school muscle. I mean my '87 came with 210 hp stock. With a 350, and no "SS". 230 horses from SS named big block, eh, not so much. Cool trucks though, I like them a lot. Good kill anywho
