    Transgo HD-2 shift kit... bad???

i just talked to the very best transmmision mechanic in town, and asked him to install my HD-2 shift kit to my 4L60E trans and a corvette servo.. first of all, he told me, that kit wasnt good... he told me is a correction kit, not a performance kit.. and also told me, it is VERY difficult to install it.. he has to drill, and do a bunch of stuff to the tranny... is it true?? i just bought the HD-2 and vette's servo... what do you think?? are they really worth it?
    Thanks!

I'm glad to see you're no longer in his shop. Move on to another transmission technician. The kit is very good.

man thats some BS! I got the same parts just installed last week! Transgo HD2 and Vette Servo! He charged me $120 for the install on the Shift Kit and the Servo was like $50! It will help out with the rpm band width and shift points just tune them in!

If the transmission guy does not know how, or thinks that installing a shift kit is hard... maybe he isnt a tranny guy, maybe he is a shade tree mechanic. Stay away from the guys who say stuff like that. Come here and ask arround. We wont lie to you.

Tell him I said to go back to building space shuttles. The transgo hd2 kit is the most popular kit on the market. IMO it is the only one to use and the b&m is a pile of crap. Vince
