    Installing Walbro 255lph

well, the fuel pump in my 01 2500HD (LQ4) kicked the bucket. i want to put in a walbro 255lph in the tank to replace it. i looked, but i'm not really sure what all i need to order. do i just get a universal in tank pump, and then i can swap the pumps out? i havnt found any walkthrough's on the subject, but one would be helpful

+2. It really isn't that bad. Disconnect the fill tube from the side of the truck, disconnect the vent hose (next to the filler hose) and unbolt the two 15mm bolts holding the straps. Then lower it slightly with a floor jack. Disconnect the fuel lines at the front of the tank along with all of the wiring connections on the top of the tank. Once everything is unplugged/disconnected, lower the tank. Use a flathead screwdriver and knock the keeper ring off the pump. Then take the assembly out--unplug the wiring and slide the fuel pump bucket from the assembly. Take out the old one. Take the black o-ring off the old pump and put it on the new brass fitting for the Walbro. Then slide it back into the assembly and reassemble everything back into the truck.
This was the Cliff's Notes version, so if you want a more detailed explaination, you can PM me or order the kit from Magnuson and read their directions...

What do ya'll do about the fuel screen? Does Chevrolet sell an ACDelco replacement? I work at O'reilly Auto Parts and I know for a fact we don't offer the screen for them cause they sell the whole stinkin module(rip off).

Ducky's thread about truck took a **** on me has everything you need to read. He bought the magnuson kit and its the same as everything else, not good enough for the novice and you still need to buy some **** to do the install.....

Has anybody had any bad experiences with Walbro fuel pumps? I've always heard/read that they are the way to go when it comes to high performance fuel injection applications but I've never read anything bad about them.

Only the cheap Chinese knock-offs have a bad rep. Be sure you buy only from a well known dealer with a good reputation.
