well, my truck has kinda been really running like ass, but ive still gotten it up to over 100 on the autoban with no alarming noises or anything, so maybe my rods are fine...? weird because now that i think of it it started running like ass ever since the first time i used it...could be just my imagination too, buts its really running like ****.

Has anyone opened up an engine to see how effective Seafoam is?
personally, I have never heard of anyone doing that, but I also think that a wet shot should help clean things up. I believe, and always have, that if you go wide open throttle at least once a day for a few seconds that it would help keep the motor clean.
Do the smart thing and use a pressurized cleaner through the rails like I do. I use 3M cleaner and it works great. You just crank the vehicle, pull the fuel pump fuse until it dies and the let the truck run off of the can until it's empty and then plug the relay in and go. I bought my cleaning kit for $170.00 with adapters for GM, Ford, Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, etc.............

SeaFoam does work well if you use it the way it was intended... Yes, if you do dump too much into the brake booster vacuum line, you will end up with too much fluid in the motor and it causes the piston to drag along the cylinder walls, hence bending a rod. It's real easy to do...take off the hose clamp from the brake booster vacuum line that attaches to the motor side of the booster. If you can't find it--it is the 5/8 diameter rubber hose that goes from the brake booster to the top backside of the intake manifold. Then start your truck and funnel about a 1/3-1/2 of a can into the line SLOWLY. You motor might wanna die, but the PCM will bring it back to life...if it starts chugging, stop pouring it until idle has leveled out. Once you have poured the required amount in, reattach the vacuum line and pour the remaining contents into the gas tank.
Or dump the whole can into the gas tank--it is not going to clean the intake manifold--it will clean the fuel system.
Or like Red said, if you really wanna clean the intake manifold WELL, take the bastard off and clean it by hand. Or get yourself a nice little NOS kit. That will keep your motor squeaky clean and also allows you to surprise a few people...

About two weeks ago I did some research on seafoam and bought three cans, I ran 1 1/2 can in my full gas tank (26gal) I ran 1/2 can in my oil for 100 miles and I was one of those that ran a can through my vac line into the intake, I poured it very slowly in my intake and then shut the engine off and let it sit, afterward I took it out for a spirited drive...ran like POOH for about two miles then cleared up...it will smoke if you run it in the intake...afterwards I changed all my plugs and my truck has run great since...you can take this for what it's worth....Post some pics when you do the swap
