Thank you, that's what I needed to know. While everyone here is very helpful they are also very performance oriented and that's not me. I mean I'd like to be but I don't have the pocket book for it. I just want to do what I can to protect my investment. It won't be a formal shop that does the work. My mechanic is retired from a local GM dealer and does some work in his garage. He does good work, knows what he's doing, has treated me right in the past, I can trust him and I know he won't try to screw me. I think there's a lot be be said for that. But where your specialty is transmissions I value your thoughts on the matter.

Once again thank you. Like I said, everyone here has been a big help but since transmissions are what you do for a living I REALLY appreciate your time.

    Later.

    One last question.

Are there any online or chain stores you would recommend I go to for the Jr kit?

Shift kits have alot of updates and fix alot of problems that haunt OE units ... Like TTC problems weak shift or even a harsh shift due to a failed spring.. We install Superior kits in everyday drivers.. They are very mild and seem work really well for a daily driver soccer mom tahoes,Suburbans... the more throttle the fimer they shift 95% of fly by night shops dont install Trans go Kits They have more parts.. more to read and more updates then any other shift kit they do shift a bit more firm all over most people.. it gives us options here.. some people never tow... They are a little older or women and dont want a harsh shift of they feel something is wrong. and of course time is money the superior kits take alot less time then a transgo If I missed something or you want to know more just ask ... I'm not going to towing anything super heavy and not often so it sounds like a Superior would be okay for me. The step down Transgo is actually a few bucks cheaper than some of the Superiors.

Interesting side note. In a thread I started asking for servo install. instructions I was given a link to another forum. In those instructions the author said these tranny's don't need shift kits because you can get better results by replacing the servo's, plural, not just the one you use the 'Vette servo for.

    FWIW.

I hate to look so helpless guys but this is all new to me. Everyone has been real patient and real helpful. Here are two less intensive shift kits, something more fit for a daily driver I would assume. Any opinions on one or the other? Yeah, I know opinions are like a**holes but I value the opinion of the guys with the experience.

    Thanks.

So it sounds like I'll spend more in labor than I will likely save with the less expensive Transgo.

    Thanks.
