i pulled my truck down into second gear as i stopped at a stop sign. when i took off the truck was still in second gear. it wont start out in first gear and shift into second in 2. what the hell is up with that? 05 silverado 4.8 w/60e 2wd

You caused the perceived issue. You did what as know as putting the transmission in Manual Second gear selection. It is designed for slippery weather conditions so that you can take off in second gear and not spin the tires.

Jeff why not its what i do in my truck when its raining.

no matter how light i am on the pedal the tire would spin, so i would put it in second gear and it fixed that. first gear still did it an 3rd did but not 2nd

Jeff dont try it u will just be slower than you already are. Any 4L60 does it. When u put it in second and you take off you stay in second till you shift. Just buy that posi and bring it over and we will install it for ya. Should be doing my posi install here soon. If you wanna come watch and learn feel free. If you try and race starting out in second u will b SLOWWWW....

so that means if I start in second... ill be neck and neck with you brian? j/k man. Im n ot racing just once so ill do a pass without spray normal and one in second... good experiment IMO
