    6.0????

so question. im lookin at my options and here they are. should i build my 4.8 litre or just drop a 6.0 in? i figure the mods to build the 4.8 wil prolly about as much as a 6.0 with about the same horsepower. but ill be able to build the 6.0 in the future. opinions?

If I had a reg cab and it was my toy... ad I was close to paying it off, or I owned it. Then Id build up the 6.0 and 4l80e and slap those in it. In My situation I wont have my truck payed off for 5 years. Im just tinkering and learning these motors until I get a reg cab. If you are serious about racing get the 6.0 or even a 408. you could put bolt ons on the 4.8 and transfer them. full bolt-ons on a 4.8 is allot different than a 6.0 horsepower wise. but its still much cooler seeing a 4.8 dust a 5.3 or a 6.0. It just doesnt happen often.

well bein the underdog is fun. and shes all paid off so im not so worried. im already dustin 5.3's. and im used higher end imports. trust me just the thought of have 1 cam and lifters with pushrods still boggles my mind

I plan on high 13's on motor and maybe high 12's with the 150 shot. thats full bolts ons with a cam, stall, locker and maybe dr's. If i put the same upgrades into a 6.0 in my truck. Low 13's on motor and low 12's on spray. Same upgrades on a 6.0 reg cab subtract .5 - 1 full second off the time for weight loss. I plan on going all out with my next truck. You only live once right?

Like I said on the other site, it depends how much you want to put into it. If you have a set budget, that will dictate your best use of funds. If you don't, the 6.0l is the obvious choice.

If you want to do a salvage yard engine swap out the LQ9 is hard to beat short of buying an L92 engine. If you want to buy a shortblock then I'd look into an L92 aluminum block that stroked to 4". SDParts.com sells a nice shortblock thats ready to go, then you'll have to find some heads to go with it. The stock L92s should work really good with that block. A little port work and that will wake the engine up even more.

yeah, it will bolt right up. Get some billet servos, 1-2 and 3-4 for stronger hold power with the big engine.
