Call FLT. Its their transmission. They should have put a new one in when they built it, right? Now its your responsibility to replace a defective part plus fluid?![]()

How does the 4L70E compare to the 4L80E? Is it much better than the 4L60E?
2007 GMC Sierra SLT CC 4x4, Vmax 6.0 with 3.73's.
The 70e is an upgraded 60e, one step stronger than the 65e and has upgraded, hardened and heat-treated input and output shafts. The 80e is a whole new world, well old world since they've been around quite a while. The gearing of the 60/65/70e is better for coming out of the hole. The 80e is bigger/stronger internally and will require less parts to handle extreme HP applications. The motor coach 80e has a lower 1st gear planetary set if you can find one otherwise the planetaries are about $600.

Thanks! So, how well will a 4L70E handle mods? I have a 6.0 Vmax with 3.73's and currently just a GMPP CAI and a 91 Octane Nelson Tune with 100% TM removed.
