    TBSS Intake manifold swap

Has anybody ever thought about doing this? From what i have been reading they will bolt up to the stock heads, and flow alot better than the stock truck intakes, plus they have the 90mm TB opening. And a place in dallas called ADM Performance is porting them out and picking up 10-15 horses on the port job for 200 bucks.

Im looking at swapping 243 heads and LS6 cam into my 5.3 and was thinking the TBSS intake might be an easy swap to get some more power, plus the bigger TB.

More air in=more air out and more power.

Actually: More Air In + More Air Out = More Power

I'm feeling anal today. I know what you meant.

I think Virgil is going to try this - you might check with him or I guess he may see the post.

What year TBSS can you use? What mods are required to do this?

    Thumbs up

You'd probably be better off having the heads worked up before going to the other intake.

Does the stock DBW TB on the truck use the same connector? I def think this is a worth wild mod, i was watching one on ebay that was complete minus TB and missed it at the end and didnt get my bid in, it went for 160 bucks.

Ok, well i put up a wanted thread looking for a TBSS intake setup, and got a PM about a guy that has the complete setup, manifold, fuel rail, inejctors and TB, he removed it at around 2K miles and installed the maggie.

The TBSS injectors have a different plug than the truck injectors? If so ill probably sell them and get some 8.1 injectors, that way it will be plug and play on my truck, id rather do that than cut up the harness to swap connectors. I was also under the impression that the DBW TB's all used the same harness plug, but if i have to change it, then i guess i will.

no they use a diff wire...they sell the new harness on LS1Tech.com for $189...also you would be better running the LS2 injectors...but it's your choice...there are also a few other little mods that you will have to make but they are really just vaccum lines and such

Can we get pictures when done? Can you jus swap the 5.3 injectors over to the TBSS intake if needed? For the TB can you just simply swap the connector out or do you need the swap harness?
