    nv3500 to 4l60e swap

sorry if this is a repost.

hope i can get some input on this:
i am trading my 4l60e for an nv3500

i have everything figured out for the 4l60 swap except the harness and the computer.

any feedback would really help. im trying to do the swap as painless as possible.

does the harness on the 5-spd truck come with all the A/T connectors??
and would i have to get the computer custom tuned?

    any input would be awesome.

    Your post is confusing.
Are you swapping to a 4l60e,
    or swapping to the nv3500?

actually, as far as pcm and harness is concerned, you can just install the standard transmission and run it.

my bad on the confusing post, was running short on time.

what i forgot to mention is that the 4l60 i am pulling from my truck i am installing in another silverado. same year, but 4x4, with a 4.8

the nv3500 from that truck i am installing in my truck. the nv3500 install should be cake. just have to get all the parts. im more worried about the automatic install intothe other truck.

may not have to tho, person may be getting a 6spd instead.

If your truck is 2wd, the 4l60e will have to have the output shaft swapped for the 4x4 output shaft. Otherwise the transfer case won't bolt up. The 4x4 shaft is shorter.
I'm not sure about the nv3500 tranny.

yeah a 2wd and 4x4 trans wont directly interchange, you have to tear down each trans and swap the output shaft over. and im pretty sure the NV3500 and a 4L60 dont use the same output shaft, so you would have to get some more parts.

I'm thinking all the truck 5 speeds use a TH400 output shaft size.
