Help on pricing from you more experienced guys...

I'm still undecided on whether or not to keep this engine and tranny combo. My wife and I are wanting to move so if I can get the right amount of cash for this, I may sell it. So I'm looking for some assistance from some of you guys more knowledgeable with some of these parts. I'd like to know what I could get for the parts below if I were to piece out the engine, tranny, and converter. If someone wants to make me an offer on the entire setup, I'll take it into consideration. But this is primarily a feeler - that's why it isn't in the classified section. Each part is a link to the retail price. Some of them I'm unsure if I have the right part, so I'd appreciate correction where needed.

    TOTAL (if new): $8069
Moze, this is just pulling numbers out of my ass, but its just my opinion.
    $800 for the block
$1000 for the heads, but cheaper would sell faster
    $250- $300 for the cam.
    $150 for the lifters
    $80 for the push rods
    $300 for the rockers
$150 for the Shaner. Put it on a couple forums and its gone.
$? what kind of injectors. Lucas for $225.00 SVO green top for $300
    $ 200 for the pulley.
$100 if the bolts are used
    $100 for the cut out
$? on the trans. Find the right buyer and there is no telling on the price.
$ 600 or so on the stall.
Honestly, you know as well as I do its all about the buyer. If you find the right guy, you will make more. Obviously, the cheaper you are the quicker it goes.

Post it up to recover the cost of the complete assembly or seperate engine from trans. You should get what you have invested out of it easily. That will free you up to do what you have to do, if you just have to move out of the great state of Texas.

If you start parting it out you'll have parts left over, most likely, that you'll have to tote around for a while.

if I had the $$$ Id take the whole setup and put it in my 04 or my 97. If I did buy all of it I would buy it all for $4500- $5500. But youll probably take a bigger hit if you sell it all together. Id part it out. you could get $7k. But whole probably $3500 - $5500 try ebay. I bet itl go quick, if thats what you need.

You will definitely get more if you part it out. If you do, expect to get around $5750-$6000...

I paid $5000. IF I sell it (IF) I'm not in a rush. We aren't going right away. So I can handle parting it out to make some extra money.

I really don't want to part with it - this sucks even having to decide.

You've got dibs Virgil - but don't wait on me. I've already decided on selling it, keeping it, selling it, keeping it, etc. like 10 different times...
