Good luck for sure I ran CC one year at Tulane before transferring to Texas and I know the dedication and training it takes especially during the weather changes in Texas as unlike our trucks sucking in cold air as we run is harder than the warmer air. Stay focused, run your race not theirs, keep your head up and show them why you made it this far

Good words Wade... I am a distance runner as well... Dave--I know you'll do just fine--you are there for a reason! Show them Kenyans how a real white boy can run! Being up in MO this time of year will be hard on the lungs, but try and go run a lil bit in the cooler weather down here to get accustomed to it...maybe a early morning jog. Damn, 5 minute miles for 10K? Sheesh... The best I could muster when I was 20 years old was 4 miles in 22 minutes when training for pre-season soccer at MSU... Anyway, good luck and make sure to slap on a "Yeah, It'll Beat a Hemi" sticker on your back...![]()

well I didn't fare out so well. I got 53rd out of 187. Ran a 31:59. Once I came up on the 5k, I could just tell my body was spent. It was a long season and I definitely wasn't ready for this race mentally or physically. Thanks for all the good lucks! There shall be a thread just like this one hopefully the same time next year.

Hey man don't kid yourself, you did great! Most of us on here couldn't have finished dead last and you ran against the best around.
