Pretty good gouge in the 7 hole, windage tray took most of the damage and saved alot of the motor.
Sounds like time for a new shortblock or a 6L. Sorry to hear of the bad luck. Damn hydraulic locking! Liquids just don't compress worth a damn.

Re-sleeve that hole go .030 over. would like to get 347ci. but dont think i can afford new higher stroke crank. getting decent cam( don't know which one yet) p&p stock heads, good valve job and maybe good set of rockers. Any ideas for power for price would be appreciated. might p&p throttle body and mass air flow sensor if it's worth it. also gonna coat piston tops and skirts. would lkie to spray up to 100 shot
347 is same stroke as the 5.3, just bored out to 5.7L cylinder size.
Get forged pistons now if you're planning on playing with the spray.

Don't bother with the MAF sensor.
How much would i have to bore over to get to 347 ci then. Would it be safe... not too thin.
I believe it is 3.908". It's done quite often, boring from 5.3 to 5.7 piston size.

Any Suggestions on cams/ rockers. My engine builder is pretty well known for his work. He says i can get away with cast pistons with a 100 shot but he and i both know forged would be preferred. His name is Harold, he owns HP Racing Engines he has a little website. He is based in magnolia, texas now. he builds a ton of extreme engines. Google him & check out some of his work.
