I think thats funny about the ford gas mileage. Its true i know several people who dont get anywhere near what the epa sicker says they should get and they drive like grandma. I dont see why chevrolet doesn advertise that. Thats a big point in my opinion. Especially since gas prices went from 1.29 to 1.59 last month alone. I think ford built their repulation on work trucks. I live out in the sticks and that is all you see is powersmoke 4x4's for oil field trucks. I do know that ford is having major problems with the new 6.0 powersmokes. Scoring pistons, cylender walls crackinng, crankshaft runout throwing belts. The dealer in town had a problem with a new one throwing the belt so they robbed one off a new truck to put on a customers truck and it threw that belt as well. The damn crank would move 1/4" in and out. It takes several hours to change the belt on one of those too. They have to take a whole bunch of shit off to get the belt off. HAHA The new fords also have the shocks mounted on the outside of the frame. Cant wait to see wide tires on one of those. Someone on here should make an inboard shock relocation kit for the new ford trucks so they can fit wide tires, and use the money to built up their ls1. Has anyone seen the gmc comercial where the new ford is chasing the gmc and cant catch up? "Try as they might they still cant catch up."

seems like ford is stickin a supercharger on everything these days.

"ughh we can't make fast engines w/ good gas mileage like chevy, so lets stick a supercharger on it."

not saying thats the way it is, but i mean even the new Ford GT, has a supercharger on it. You'd think since its like fords super car, they'd do all muscle???

just my opinion
Its the cheapest way to make horsepower and if driven right. The l's can be nice trucks. They can haul ass for little money. There is package in a shop in town for like 1500, suppose to run 11's on slicks. I havent used it/or know anyone that has. The downside to the L is, nothing is forged, they needed forged internals like the Cobra's have. They way, you can throw more on them and not have worries. As it is, you can stick pulleys, but add any n2o and it goes boom. On the cobra, there are plent yof cars tunning ~16-18lbs on the eaton with shots, no problems. (oh and they still dont get good mileage. Cobra's get around average of 11mpg, L's around the same. I know ppl with both and that is their average at "easy" driving)

The GT40 has a NICE supercharger. Its a twin screw eaton. A lot better/efficent over the m112. The GT40 is also a 5.4 dohc motor, basically a Cobra R motor with a twin screw on it. (but for the 110K+ price tag, i'd take a used Ferrari 360 Modena anyday. [/b]
I thought the L's had forged internals. At least thats what I have heard over on LS1tech.com. Many threads debating between L's and Chevy over there. I give props to ford for making a performance factory truck. They don't seem to care if a truck can out run the cobra. Chevy's problem is that they will never let anything surpass the vette from the factory. They need to bump the vette to 500hp and then give us some factory performance trucks. just my .02.

Watch out when you step foot in it, you may get struck by lightning. J/K, enjoy, and let us know how it feels, especialy the shifting with the six speed. I have heard it is a bit awkward.
