    Coolant question

Ok, all of a sudden my truck just shoots out all of its coolant. Its a 1998 Chevy 4.3L

here is a pic of what the res looks like for the coolant.

ok so i fill it to the line then in about a week its all gone. it just squirts onto my frame.... the truck is not over heating at all either. but it just is squirting out every time it runs and it squirts out a lot.

any idea's what the problem is ? and why is that tube just pointed at my frame

btw thats not a pic of my truck i just used one from ebay. :p

Maybe intake gaskets. Very common on 4.3. Could be building pressure and the overflow is the weakest point.

My wife drives a 97 4.3 and I just replaced the intake manifold gasket. 85k miles. no coolant squirting out of the overflow though. check your oil. see if it appears milky, mine was fine one day then the next it looked like it had way too much oil. turned out it was coolant. if it is, i bet it is, itll cost about $400 for a mechanic to change the gasket, tstat, and oil. dont run it with coolant in the oil, youll float the bearings out of the bottom end. and dont use the magic bottle of stop leak either. Also: open the oil fill cap after running and steam should be present if leaking into oil.
    SORRY SO LONG.

If you are scrapping the 4.3 for a 6.0 soon, just leave it alone... Just drive it and monitor your coolant levels and engine temps...
