it sounded like a GIANT blow-off valve

So last night i got the munchies at like 12 so i was making a run to the store and it was raining (it's seattle). I decided to floor it and listen the the wine of the tires on the interstate on ramp. the tack hit like 5500 and the spedo went to like 60 when i was going around 25...and then i heard a giant release of air or pressure of some sort. on the way to the next exit i heard a faint grinding/hissing sound and i couldn't tell where it was coming from (it sounded more like a hiss, thinking right away it was a tire i looked all around but they were all fine). I hopped off the next exit and checked everything in a parking lot. I was thinking maybe it was the dif but i drove it around and it stopped making the noise after i was in the parking lot for like a minute. it seems to run perfectly fine and it just really scared me cause i thought i blew something big (or maybe i did)...what do you think? I really could not think of anything else.

Sorry dude no clue. I raced a guy once and heard a similar sound. I never found out what it was. I was in my POS mustang gt at the time. Before I traded that turd for a camaro.

If you have a mechanic fan, that's probably what you heard, it slowing down.
