It will have no bottom end and that 4.8L needs all the lowend torque it can produce. Plus, to take advantage of the power band, you'd need a stall converter of at least 3600rpms, which would knock about 3mpg off your current mileage in the city and feel like you're stepping on a sponge during daily driving.
Also, that 4.8L will probably want to shift about 7200rpms, now you're tearing into the bottom end to strengthen it up with rod bolts.

The key to a great truck is to build it for usable power. Having a truck with all topend isn't fun.

I guarantee you a 220 cam in that truck will run just as fast as a 234cam, if not faster. Then add a 3000stall and with your current gears, it'll be a pretty fast truck.

Hope this helps, and please guys, this only my opinion based on my experience.
Let me know when I can order your cam package

    bye,
Wow, Thats a Turn-on and a half!! I like her already Allen.... Nice Pick!!

    Welcome to the Forum Melissa!

But since you said you need all the torque it can get... Wouldnt a 210/218 cam be better then a 220 torque wise?
