    header question

i am thinking of something to do to the sub to bump the performance, after getting owned by a damn corrolla S. and after seeing the huge increase i got with the headers and ORY on the silvy, im thinking thats the way too go. i'll get the mean ass growl and a big boost in power, especially being FI.
my question is will the same headers and ORY set work on the sub. i think it should because its the same engine and should slid right into the existing cat-back.

Really? Guess you need to do a forced induction conversion and lowered compression so you push some heavy boost pressures.

well, it is the vacation vehicle, doubling as my work vehicle while the silvy's down, so i didnt want to get too heavy into it plus, we plan on getting a new body style in the near future but in the mean time i like to pimp around a little and still have some power to whip on the unsuspecting. losing to the corrolla was a heavy blow. i mean my sub has beaten a new escalade. she's just in poor shape right now. i went through the whole story in a different thread, but its got alot of timing being pulled. the new tune is sitting on my floorboard waiting to go in. mainly i just want a few supporting mods. i have a 10 psi pulley waiting for the injectors and inline pump to support it. but i think long tubes and off road y would help, hold off the damn corrolla's. lol

hey red how do you like your 408, i have been looking into that as a plan for when i blow up my silvy, cuz its not a matter of if its just a matter of when. with my luck. 165000 and procharger at 10 psi. i have the livernoise stage 2 ls6 heads on the way, and have been thinking of a 408 to set them on if the 5.3 gives up the ghost. it must have loads of torque. and a procharger would only make things beter right?

I think I'd just grin and bear it knowing that I have a vehicle at home that would flat out destroy most everything on the road. This is how I drive a 1990 BMW 325i every day.

The 408 is running strong. I'd probably go for a 370 if I did it again just for the longevity of the engine since the cylinders properly support the piston unlike the 408 version. The additional performance is great, though. Sounds like you've got some nice heads on the shelf, there.

The Sub is 2WD right? You should be fine then..yes, the LT's and the Y will bolt right up to the cat-back. You will see noticeable gains in the seat of your pants----and it will sound better too. Get that new tune in and the pulley, injectors, pump. I am sure you won't be disgraced by another Corolla then...

Red--what is in the 325i? Please say something like the new 4.0L V8 from the 2008 M3...

Just a side note--I drove my truck to work yesterday and when I was on my way home from the gym, I saw a Corolla S--all retarded-looking with it's lame attempt for a body kit---and thought---There is noooooo way that thing could even keep up... I was thinking about screwing with him to see if he would bite, but then I figured I wouldn't want to waste the gas on him... I am sure it is all in your PCM---get that thing right and you will be just fine...
