Yes, you can do as Red described (I outlined this process in another thread) or if you have the time, go buy the intake plug from GM. Robert, you can go ahead and take off the EGR and plug the hole in the intake (using either process) using the same 10mm bolt. And sorry for not being able to give you my EGR header block off plate, but you can go to Vatozone or O'reilly's and grab a place that will fit over the header's EGR port. The only bad thing that will happen is for thr Service Engine Soon light to come on. Don't worry, your truck is fine. Blocking off the EGR is not going to wreak havoc on your motor, it will actually make it run a little smoother. Who wants exhaust gasses recirculating into their intake? Not this guy... Currently, my rear O2's are off as well as my EGR, and it is driving fine. Once I get my PCM shipped down and Charlie fixes everything, it will run mucho bueno.
