    5.3 lhp-vs-6.0l hp???????????????????

ok im a newbie and have been doing alot of research on ls1tech and ls1truck and have a couple ?'s. A 5.3 with a 100hp package will put me at 334 to the wheels. Can i just buy a 6.0 at 395hp and add a 100hp ( if there is one)and be at around 500hp? looking for a 500hp daily driver and c that the 6.0 swaps g0 for about 2500 with all the accessories. let me know what i can do.

First off, the 6.0's range in power from 300 (LQ4) to 345 (LQ9) and 367 I believe for the new 6.0 which I dunno the rpo for. There is no 395hp version. Do you want 500 fly wheel horsepower or rear wheel? Im assuming rear wheel since you were talking rear wheel with the 5.3 If you do the same mods to the 6.0L that you did to the 5.3 with the "100 hp package" I am pretty sure you might be at 375-400 or so wheel hp (just a guess here). If you want a 500 horse daily driver I say you invest in a turbo or a supercharger. With a base supercharger kit or turbo kit on a 6.0 you still wont be at 500 rear wheel horsepower. Takes alot of work and $$$ to get 500 horses to the wheels in these trucks, thats my

lookinfor 500hp to the wheels. this will all be going in an 1989 chevy s10blazer so it wont be ass heavy. i was thinkin of the 100hp bolt on kit a good set of heads and 250shot of nitrous. something along those lines. so an 6.0 will be better to start off with then a 5.3. junk yard wants a 500 dollar difference thats why im leanin towards a 6.0.

Sounds like a good plan. That nitrous will definately get you there. But I dunno about running a 250 shot on a somewhat stock engine, probably gonna blow it up. I say get 6.0 simply because there is no replacement for displacement.

Not entirely acurate, dont the LS2's (6.0) rated at 395 hp? maybe he meant a 6.0 truck engine, but maybe he didn't. anyway, i may be off but i do think the ls2 is rated right around 400.

LS2 6.0L engines only come in Trailblazer SSs, Corvettes, and GTOs as far as I know. It should be an aluminum block if it's an LS2.

I was assuming he meant the truck 6.0's forgot about the car and trailblazer ones. I haven't seen too many threads on here where people swap the LS2 ect. Muh bad though.
