You have to be leary of someone who wants 66% - 75% up front. IMO, you shouldn't have done that (being a contractor myself). "Friendship" can definitely cloud your judgement sometimes.

Thanks guys! I knew $ was tight with him so I figured I'd help out by giving him the job and material $ up front. We shouldn't not trust our friends but I was played.
