my buddy is about to do a LQ9 swap on his camaro and is guna get rid of his 5.7 LS1. he said $450 takes it. it runs great, but im a bit worried about the milage on it.

the motor:
85,000 mile LS1
a very large cam that i could sell(been with this cam for about 3000-5000 miles)
918's and hardened pushrods
has had a couple bottles of nitrous through it on the stock tune(before cam)
it will have the lq9 intake, and oil pan on it.

why dosent anyone do LS1 swaps anymore, is the LQ9 THAT much better? if i decided to do this swap what hurdles would i have? would all of my front accessories just bolt right up to the ls1? and the pacesetter headers. what about them? i also have an underdrive pulley on my truck. will that swap over or am i out a few bills.

i think i can answer all of my own questions on this but im just making 100% sure. all accessories will swap except for UD pulley right? i can reuse my computer but will it run on my 5.3 tune good enough to get me to SA? or should i just ride this motor out and find a lq9 when the time comes. too many questions lol.

oh, and the motor is currently in a standard car. will it mount up to my automatic 4l60e without any issues?
