Bought a few recycled parts to add to the LS1 5.7L in my truck.....and some new parts for the install
2002 LS1 head with 8k on them
Comp Cams 918 valve springs
LS6 titanium valve spring retainers
used low mileage LS6 roller lifters
New LS6 HD cam chain and follower
a full set of LS1 stock pushrods
7.400" thunder racing .080 pushrods -1....could use one 7.4" TR pushrod if someone has a spare.
valve covers, rocker arms, coil mounts and all coils from the 2002 LS1
Lingenfelter Performance Engineering cam
duration
specs... 261/277
208/224 at .050" lift
.554/.567
117 degrees lobe seperation angle
I plan on cleaning up the ports on the heads before putting them on the engine, blend the seat to the casting, polish the ports and smooth the valve guide bosses to help the flow a little. I'm trying to decide if I should have the heads shaved .050" to raise compression or just use the Thunder Racing push rods. Since the cam has a .050" smaller cam profile, this has me thinking shaving. Is it .050" on the diameter or is it per side? I can mic/measure the one that is out already but don't know the factory stock size on my factory stock cam size.
I can't wait to see if this helps me just a little bit.
BTW...mine has the stock 98 LS1 perimeter bolt cover heads instead of the center bolts.
