OK, lets decide on a time to leave Mesquite guys....

Greg - are you planning on meeting up with us or just going down yourself?

Pedro - Virgil mentioned you wanted to leave around 7:00?

Virgil - You're good for whenever, right?

Alen - where the crap are you? You going?

    Anyone else...?

I'll meet you guys down there. I've got something banging in the drivetrain, don't know if I've broke my transmission mount or the rearend is it too loose or the the carrier bearing is jumping all over. When it shifts from 1-2 it bangs HARD! I may be taking it very easy or not running at all tonight. Gotta figure out what the problem is. I didn't notice the problem until last night and had no time to investigate. I've been only driving about 1/4 throttle over the last week and last night I 3/4 floored it from a stoplight and POW! Oh well, another opportunity to improve the stability and strength of the truck. May be time for some caltracs.

Man - always something huh? I was almost ready to bail myself. I got my retune and Virgil and I logged on HP Tuners and it looks nearly identical to my other tune. So I'm still running like 19 degrees of timing. As I accelerate, the timing is actually dropping. Not real keen on driving an hour to race with screwed up timing. I swear I'm never going to run where everything is working like it should. Timing, tune, fuel pump, knock sensors, O2 sensors, low fuel, always something screwed up...

Edit: talked to Allen, and he has my timing set at 30°, so something is pulling timing. Anyone have ideas? He said it may be my air intake temps, but I would think they would be lower than most since I have that 'ram air' setup on there. Anyone else have ideas?

Scan your water temps with the HPT software and see where it is. Make sure it's operating in closed loop when you're checking the timing values.

I understood "water temps" - the rest of what you said is above my head.

Closed loop means the 02 sensors are up to temp and the PCM is adjusting the fuel and timing values based on the feedback from the sensors. You should see the timing running way up during normal driving. When you floor it the PCM runs in open loop and is strictly running off of the WOT tables.

ok..I remember Virgil showed me it was running at WOT and the timing was actually dropping as I drove. I had just driven 1/2 hour from work, so they were definitely up to temp.

Leaving Mesquite at 9? eesh. I might just scratch going. Freaking timing is all screwed up anyway - starting to not see the point in going.

We can do it another time. Things just don't seem to be in the cards for tonight for all of us. Maybe Mexico will be where all the racing gets done tonight.
