Ok I know this far off because nothing is really done to my engine yet...but how many mods can I safely get away with before i have to trash my stock 4L60E? lets say I have a cam, long tube headers, intake and a tuned pcm on my 4.8... Is my stock tranny still safe? If and when I do upgrade transmissions what should i get?

You're close to Arlington, call Billy at TRTTurbo.com. He can fix you up on a good strong 4L60e when you're ready for one. His price is really good and he can install it for you, get you a convertor, install gears and posi... whatever you need done locally.

Sure can. He is one of the site sponsors. Look in the site related section and all the site sponsors are listed with contact information.

What cam are you running and who did you choose for your long tubes. I have a 4.8L as well and can't make up my mind on which of these to get.
