Thread: L92 intake

  1. #1
If the heads are swapped in favor of L92's will the L76 intake work with the accesories on an 03 SS? Looking at doing the swap but dont want to run the carb style intake and have read that the truck L92 intake is only good to about 5400 rpm. Any input would be greatly appreciated so i dont end up buying parts that wont work. thanks in advance Mario

You do have a 6L or larger engine, correct? 4" or larger cylinder bores?

that being said then yes the L76 intake is the way to go on your LQ9 if you swap to the L92 heads. that will make a mean little combo for the money spent for sure. good luck keep us posted.

    DBW throttle body interferance
    Cluth fan interferance
3 bolt to 4 bolt throttle body swap and associated changes in connections
Fuel lines will need to be modfyied for intake and regulator

@SSS.com there is a guy putting together a working set up, he is not done yet.

there is thread on ls1tech about the flow subject with comparisons between the l92 and l76 i beleive done by rich at wcch. it showed the truck intake running out of breath really early and causing a restriction to the head. if i remember correctly they flowed the head by itself and then with the 2 intakes to show the diffrence. I saw another thread by zippy about the water pump subject and asked for the gm part number it appeared to be a new body style truck pump. will post if i get it. thanks mario
