Do you have a PCM pinout for the harness you have? Need to see where the 80e wires go to the pcm vs where the wires from a 60e harness go to the pcm. The two wires that come from pcm red 20 and 21 should go to the VSS connector on the transmission. Check the colors of the wires in you current harness and find the connector on the transmission with those colors and hook it up to the pickup sensor.

On the 2001 LS1 PCM the wires are light green/black in 20 and purple/white in 21. 20 is to the left of the bolt that holds the connector into the PCM and 21 is to the right of it.

------------------------------------------
1 through 20 ------- 21 through 40
--------------- bolt --------------------
41 through 60 ------- 61 through 80
---------------------------------------------

It's probably because the PCM wiring may be different on the 80e harness. Check out that main transmission connection S = 3-2 Downshift Solenoid - Blue PCM connect pin 79 (White wire insulation).

You may have to move the connector in your pcm wiring to correct it.

Are you still running the 4l80e program? This could be be your problem. Also normally there is a harness that will jump the wiring at the trans when doing a 4l60e to 4l80e swap. Am I reading this right you are converting to a 4l60e?

i have a 80e harness but am running a 60e trans. i bought a 6.0(LQ4) and its the harness that came with the engine which originally had the 80e behind it. anyone know the differences other than the turbine plug? i have a custom tune and its setup for the 60e tranny so idk where the problem could be other than wiring differences in the pcm.

I do not believe that the 80 harness is going to work because the 4l60e has a pwm solenoid for the lock up and a on off solenoid for the lockup operation. The 60 also has an added solenoid for a 3-2 kick down. I guess what I'm saying is that there are two more solenoids being used with the 60 meaning that you are probably a couple wires short by using the 80 harness. I will be honest with you that I am not a wiring genius. LOL Good luck with this project and if I think of anything I will post it. Vince

thatll work. i do have a complete v6 harness that has all the wires for sure to run the tranny so if i need to i can simply replace that part of the harness with that part of the v6 harness. thanks for all ur help guys, looks like this evening may be a wiring nightmare haha.
