Thread: Rear Spring mounts broken

    Anybody had this problem...My rear leaf spring mounts that attach to the frame split in the middle.The drivers side about 2 months ago and now the other one is broke.It has 2 inch drop shackles,but Ive had those on every GM truck Ive owned and never a problem.The dealer is crawfishin saying that the shackles did it Its a 2004 sportside ext cab....any ideas

    Post up some pics, I've gotta see this! The front leaf spring hanger is supposed to be one of the strongest parts of the truck!

    Put the stock shackles back on it and take it to another dealer.

    I ran the truck for about 2 months with the overloads out while the traction bars were being built and hopped the ass end a few times....pretty freakin hard&#33; The first one broke before I lowered it....could be all that massive HP from my little 5.3...LOL. Ill post some pics tonite of the break and my new traction bars

    Yoiu sure are hard on that thing I would hate to look at mine after the wheel hop I had/have...

    It doesn&#39;t have anything to do with those traction bars, does it? You&#39;re not twisting the mount instead of the spring, are you?

    Dude&#33;,The 3 trucks prior to this one, 99,2000,and 2002 got tens times the shit from me this truck has had and freakin held up...Fords are startin to look good to me&#33;....OMFG I cant imagine....me in a FORD...somebody HELP&#33;

    The Tbars have only been on for a day,and are coming off to be finished out with a saddle.I put them on to make sureeverything was ok...fit and function.I really dont think Ill break or bend these,like the 2 I built before this set.This R&D is time consuming and possibly gonna get exspensive&#33;
