Going from a 4.3 to a V8, you're going to feel more power if you go with any of the Gen3 engines, even the 4.8L will have one hundred more hp.

the 4.8 isnt worth the money IMO. i used to race them when i had the 4.3 and i could stay right even with a stock one. 01thunder has a nice 4.8, but he has tons of mods. 100HP seems a lil high for the difference. and if it does have 100 more HP, the weight evens it out quite a bit.

Okay, here's you some more information for your wealth of knowledge learned from reading.... the 1992 4.3L V6 had 160 HP and the 2000+ 4.8L V8 has 270 HP. He won't gain 100 HP with the 4.8L but he will gain 110 HP! Do you feel smarter now?

glad mine had 180 horsepower then red, amazing what happens when u read!
http://www.epinions.com/auto-review-7CFC-8...-38A7802C-prod5
and again even at 90 more horsepower, i still ran neck and neck with the stock ones, and all i had was no cats and a 40 series flow dumped. it would also run neck and neck with a dodge ext cab with the 360 in it(2001 model).
