Thread: broke shit!!!

    wiped out a rear u joint today to add to the collection of other things that have broke on the av...if it cant handle it....it cant stay!!!!

    Damn that sux Alton ! Did the drive shaft ruin any thing? Im going to replace my u-joint too. Is there a HIGH STRENGTH U-JOINT available for our trucks or should we just go to NAPA? BTW, Did you break it on take off?

    Be sure the ujoints you buy are forged, not cast. Cast will break really easily.

    I remember my days when I had a 73 Chevy 4x4 with a 350 4bolt that came out of a street modified dirt race car. I broke every u-joint on that truck at least once going through cast iron u-joints like a hot knife through butter.

    I hear some guys are going to a much larger u-joint and yoke on the rear end. Anyone know what they&#39;re talking about? Is maybe it a yoke from a 2 ton truck or something?

    i think parish is running a larger one...would have to go do a search on it....

    yep...stomp the pedal and WHAM&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;all the bearings were gone

    i really like this 3/4 ton drive shaft....it&#39;s holding up very well&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;
