Good deal bro but dont forget about changing those gears out if your gonna go with 35s. it helps take out the strain on the rear end and tranny alot! i found out the hard way. tore up tranny first, then the rear end, then the u-joints. I had 37'' super swampers and those took 456's.

Well I found the CKP sensor, had to take the starter off to find it.

I'd like to keep the ABS for safety reasons, will it work with the 6.0l ECM? I think there is only one wire from the ABS module going to the old ECM and one that goes to the front axle (not sure what that one is for??)

stevc3e...what gears did you have in that tore everything up?? I'm planning on 4.56's, but I need to get this thing up and running first.

    Thanks

It's probably a communication line (serial data or something similar) to tell the ABS unit you are in 4WD instead of 2WD.

As far as working with the 6.0L..... maybe. A lot of wiring/communication evolves. For instance, my 93 had a vehicle speed buffer, a little white box under the dash. Tied the input wire to the output wire, and my speedo worked. Seems that function is built into the ECM now.. I can look at the wiring and make my best guess for you.

what's the wire color? I have the wiring diagrams for 93. If I had to guess from memory, it's a black/white wire, and says something like "front axle telltale feed"

I dumped my 93 PCM. Not needed so far. You need to feed the speedo sensor feedback from the transmission into the speedo box behind the glove box, it's a little white box about 2 inches square. Use the stock relay if you can. I re-used the stock relay on both my conversions. That saved me buying a $3 relay.

You can take the speedo signal from the PCM, tie two leads in the buffer together, and get the speedo to work through the PCM, that's what I did. Now I can cal the speedo for axle ratio, tire size etc.. I can get the pins you need to cross if you want it. Essentially, the speedo buffer (little white box) is built into the controller now, and totally calibratable (sp? is that a real word) in the PCM.

Going from memory here, my 1993 had two white/clear connectors the connected the underhood harness with the body harness. I think the green/white wire was for the speedo signal. I tied that into my the PCM adapter harness I built, pulled two leads from the speedo buffer, and tied them together. BAM speedo worked perfect.

Beertestr: the wire is brown with a white stripe and goes from the ABS computer to front axle to the 4x4 wiring harness. It is connected to the front axle with a blue wire that goes to the old ECM.

As far as the speedometer wiring, I have the Painless harness that has a VSS Output wire from the PCM. Your saying I can connect this wire to 2 wires from the speedo buffer and it will work? What colors are the 2 wires?

I have to look at the wiring diagrams on the ABS brown wire question. I'll see if I can look tonight.

As for the speedo buffer dealeo, I won't have my truck back at the house for a few more days. When get it back, I will take a pic of what I did. Your truck should have a clear/white 2-row connector that the original PCM hooked into under the glove box. I want to say there is a green/white wire in that connector, which is the VSS wire. I tapped into that, and tied the two wire together at the buffer connector. I tapped in that way in order to make my harness removable, just like the factory since I am developing in a plug and play kit.

Does anyone know what wire (pin) out of the 5.3L PCM is the VSS output? I'd like to use it to run an Auto Meter Speedometer gauge and also use it to tie into the 1993 Silverado's ABS system. Thanks in advance.
