I can relate to what you're saying as far as LSX, LS1, LS2, LS6, LS7, LS9 etc.....They are all based on the LS1 engine.
What would you consider this LS based motor? It's just a little 4.8 LOL

It was fun at the truck Friday night. I made couple passes and parked the truck near the front of staging lanes were a crew of GM trucks had parked. A few of the guys came over and asked what I had done to make my truck run a 9.42. They'd never seen an OBS break a 10. Their jaws dropped when I told them it was nothing but a stock 5.7L with a cam. I forgot to tell them it was an "LS1" 5.7L.![]()
These guys never got better than a 9.8 all night, except their hero who was driving a 4wd Duramax with a programmer. He hit a 8.9 a couple times.

8.9o's with a 4X4 deisel, that's pretty impressive. There is some guy who comes out to WRP with a diesel who is a dealer for BullyBog I think who runs in the 9's. Either way it's kinda cool to see a diesel run that fast.
