    Low end sucks!!!!

I have a 4,8 nd my low end just blows. First off all, its not a posi (Get it a Z71 w/ no posi?!?!?) Ok so i was off roading by myself.(4HI) Then half way up a steep hill the stupid truck just crawls to to a stop. It just stays there it humms. It doesnt move at all!!! I shift to 4LO and the tires just spin, is this normal? I already have a tune, feels a little better but it really screams at mid to top end. How can i get a little more push at Low RPM. and what gears do you guys recommend for an daily driver? Has 3.73 from factory in august ill be adding LT headers and CAI oh and a Auburn Posi system.

If you dont mind sacrificing mileage for power, 4.10's with a lets say 2800 stall and you should be good.

Get a higher stall for sure best bang for your buck (circle D stall under 400$)and a rear locker would be good. If you daily drive it the 3.73's are a happy medium although 4.10's would give you most kick down low.

    How big a hill?

I had 35's on a 4.8 with stock 3.42's and never had an issue. But never got too crusty with it.

Please don't do 37's. Even 35's are a bit too big for a 6'' lift and rub (6+3 BL looks bewbs). Stay with the 33. Go 4.56. It will be a good gear if you do 35's eventually as well. Bigger stall will help a ton as well.

Hit up Ron for gears. He is a dealer on here and has awesome deals, great service, and awesome turn around time.

Go for a truetrac rather than the Auburn, too. Clutches will be toast in no time with those gears and big tires. No clutches to burn out in the TT.

and back to the original post - your low-end sucks because you have a 4.8 with tires bigger than 28"
00 FRC - just top end, exhaust, and a hot-air intake
