I went to the track and ran a 15.2 and weighted in at 5,995 pounds. Any way the track was covred in fog and alittle wet. I had alot of spinning so I'm hopeing to get back down there and try it in better weather.

I tryed it in four wheel drive once and only ran a 15.9@87 but I was in second before I shifted out of it. I'm not sure where my mind was on that one.

next time I should be breaking into the 14's I'm thinking

WOW..... 6300 lb & 5995lb. I never realized the trucks weigh that muck, wow!
I have a customer with a 04 or 05 SS, how much do you think it weighs?
The SS doesn't have beefed up suspension like your trucks have, right?

Someone has got to get the word out to GM to lighten these pig-heavy trucks up somehow! It's like they don't know how to make things out of composites or polymers. I guess a lot of it has to do with gov't mandates for safety equipment like airbags and such.

I agree but I still hear people complain about cars and trucks being made out of plastic!

When I worked for a GM dealer as a tech I had to take a frount door off a crew cab truck. Now rember Im a pretty good size boy. It took two of us to carry the door. I couldn't beleave how freaken heavy that door was. It's those parts that add up that pig wieght. I don't know how much each door weight's but, it would take 2 or 3 of my bumpers to = the weight of that door.

You think GM makes a heavy truck, take any ford of the same style truck and add 500 lbs and on top of that rubber band they call a engine. Now thats a pig.
