Finished up a 6L swap on a 2001 extended cab Silverado last week.
This truck had a 5.3L in it, 4.10 and posi, stock stall.

We installed a new 6L, AED heads (fully ported / built) 226/228 cam and 42lb injectors.

I couldn't believe what it ran Friday!
This was on the stock stall and tires. Most ppl say they have traction problems, this one really did, in first, second and third.

I can't remember if it was a 13.2 or 13.3, but it was at 105 mph!!

The trans didn't like it one bit, so a stall and built trans is going in real soon!
This truck should be good for a mid 12 with traction and a 3000stall converter.
I need to post up the dyno results, but it was somewhere around 380hp to the wheels.

Just letting you know what can be expected or close to from a cam/headed 6L in an extended cab.
The owner doesn't post up much, but visits, so I figure he'd like to show off his results.
Matter of fact, there are a lot of guys down south that aren't posting up and have some fast ass trucks!

I'll post some pics up later,

At least low 12's. A stock 6L with an LS6 cam went 13.4 or so on slicks, stock trans, reareand, airbox, etc.

Add some traction, 4.10's and a stall with this combo and you'll definitely get there.

Sounds like a nice setup. What were the flow numbers on the heads? Were they ported stock LQ4 heads? How many CCs were the heads after rework?

I'm sure you'll be there 1slow01! I'd think low 12's would be easy with that setup.

Redhearbeat, not sure on the numbers, but they are ls1/6 style heads, 64cc chamber. I'll get the flow numbers on them soon.

    later,

ya, it still has the 60e in there with a shift kit. It's coming out soon, going with a FLT trans with a 3000stall. Should be a lot faster.
