    Yes that is it longer valve stem due to the smaller base circle there you go theres your answer.

    ok well what i wanted to know about it is, what else do i need other than springs and most of yall guys with them have 5.3 i have a 4.8. Also if i get the ls1 heads will that make a diffrence( i will buy them if they are not sold by tue.) I will install both the cam heads and spings all at the same time. Let me know what yall think.

    You will need head gaskets and new head bolts. You can't re use the old head bolts. Just get head bolts for the 4.8L. The LS1 head bolts are a diff. length. You should be able to reuse all the other gaskets. Its not a bad idea to change them if you have the funds.

    Damn gasket sets are pricey for these things. I just bought a full set with pulley bolt and head bolts, minus rear main seal, for $335 shipped. OUCH!!!!!

    The real ouch is that this is the second set of gaskets on this engine in two months.
