    +1 I have never had engine troubles related to the oil in any vehicle I used with syn. All things mechanical will wear and break at some point in time, but I wholeheartedly believe that syn oil is a better product. To each his own

    I was watching a show where they were making synthetic oil and they showed where they were pressing the oils out of coal.

    I change mine every 3-5k. I consider the 3k "rule" as more of a... recommendation. Like speed limit signs you know? I never let it get past 5k though. Generally, at 3k I start looking for time to do it between work and school and trips home. Sometime in the 2k miles after that it gets done.

    I run mobile 1 ..5 30 and checked mine at 3,000 it looked like it did when i put it in.. i changed it at 5,000 and it was getting a bit dark. so i do mine bout every 5

    That sounds exactly like what I do, except my numbers are more like 4-7K.
