Ok, so I got a new trans and stall in my truck this weekend, and now the truck (01 5.3, stock) doesnt wanna go into 2nd gear at wot, it wants to down shift to first...is this just a tune issue?

Most likely a tune issue........how big is the stall??

2009 Silverado, HPTuners, all stock.
3000 stall 2.2 str, I am gonna get it tuned, I hope it fixes it, but I just dont know.
Take it back to whomever redid the trans and have them confirm they didn't mess anything up. If they can't do that, go to Cottmans or a large chain rebuilder and they'll do diagnostics free of charge. I wouldn't think the convertor would cause your problem, nor the tune.

yeah, I was thinking pretty much the same thing, but the guy said tunning issue, so I am gonna have it tuned, and if that doesnt fix it, I will be putting in another trans...today the trans would shift into 2nd, then it would shift right back into first under part throttle...Lord I hate automagics...I am seriously thinking its T56 time....
