I am kinda new here. I read a lot but don't really post as i haven't a lot of experience. I would like some help in picking out a new transmission for my 2003 Chevy Silverado....it has a 5.3 with 373 rear end it is 4x4. I haven't done much mod wise except for tuning. I bought a Predator for it and have been happy so far. I noticed recently that my tranny has started to slip a little. It is considerable noticeable when I try to get it to downshift as the RPM's will go a few hundred higher than normal. I had it checked out and the shop I took it to said it would cost me about 1700 to get it fixed. The truck only has 62000 miles on it and most are highway. I think that I would rather just replace the whole transmission as I feel that I can do this but not actually switch out individual serrvos and such because I am not that experienced. I have tried to read through the posts but there are so many different ones that I am confusing what I should get. I currently have a 4l60e and want to put in something similar but with tougher parts so I don't have to mess with this again. Can anyone give me some pointers. Thanks guys.
