Hey guys. Pretty New here. I just purchased a 5.3 with a hacked up harness and 4l60. I will get some pics posted up here pretty soon. I have been reading Red Heartbeat and glocks postings to get an Idea of how this thing is supposed to go. I hope mine is a smooth as ya'lls was.

which set of swap brackets did you choose and why.

i was looking at the hooker header ones but are there any others that are better.
I had looked at BRP Muscle Rods Your LS1 - LSX Conversion Kit Specialist at their install kit. They are a little pricey.
$450 but you get to keep the a/c compressor where it is. I was told that if you hook up the stock compressor that came with the engine to the low pressure switch that you would be able to use it without problem.
Is this a smart route to go or would i do better with a kwik bracket and the hookers or does any one have another suggestion???

oh and one more thing. Is there a way for me to use the stock gas tank out of the 2004 Silverado under my truck. If you have tried this let me know. I can get the tank for $150 with the assembly still in it.

sorry to keep posting so many questions on the same thread but
i have a electric throttle body and I was thinking that a cable would be better.
I do not have the little box that the electric gas pedal plugs into.
Which one would be cheaper getting the box or swapping to cable tb.
Which one gives better throttle response ( I was thinking cable.)
If anyone has either of the part groups I need or knows where i can get them pretty reasonably please let me know.

If you want cruise control go with the DBW setup. A control box can't be that expensive, can it? Can't get it from the person you bought the engine and harness from?

The truck was wrecked on the driverside bad enough for the exhaust manifold to be pinned. In the truck by the fender. The fire wall damaged the box. The guy I got the engine from had to break the bolts off the exhaust manifold to get the engine out the truck
I still have to get the broken Bolts out

I have some custom stainless steel brackets that NITROUS made for me. They move the engine forward an inch. If I had it to do again I'd probably use the ones that keep the engine in the stock location but they wouldn't look as pretty. The Hooker ones look very functional in my opinion.

Thanks! Its a 20', I hope to have her painted by the end of spring. Motor has been in for about 3yrs now. It took roughly 6 months from start to finish because at every turn I found out I needed this and that fitting.

which set of swap brackets did you choose and why.

I used Transdapt plates that keep the motor in a "stock" position. They were the cheapest at the time when I started my swap.
