    N2O decisions

alright some of the nitrous guys chime in. who recommends what kit and with what add ons to spray 100-150 shot consistently? what would be the list of parts to buy and so on. how big of a shot would a rod bolt head bolt 9:9.1 5.3 handle without damage?

I would buy the cheapest base kit you can find. All the kits these days are really well built. I might stay away from Zex and Nos, but even they have decent kits.

I would buy as much stuff as you can afford. Nitrous is easy to get into, but that is where people have problems.

I've posted my setup before on here(don't feel like writing that essay again), but I have close to $1000 into my setup and it's not even very extensive.

As far as how big of a shot. The stock bottom end can easily handle a 150 if tuned right. The bigger problem will be your transmission. Even a window switch isn't going to help when you're adding almost 200 ft/lbs of torque(Our trucks make a ton of torque on nitrous).

i run a plate kit, plate kit is once you start running bigger shots (lamen terms) it works better, the kit i run isnt your everyday run of the mill nitrous kit. i have ARP connecting rod bolts and ARP head bolts i spray a 200 shot. nitrous outlet is where the majority of my kit was purchased from.

yea my motor as follows so far. its yet to be put in the truck, putting it together now and im not going to spray any big shots until i put in a T56. but my setup is 5.3 9:9.1 arp rod bolts arp head bolts, ported ls6 heads, cam in my sig, patriot springs ti retainers, long tube headers, CAI, possibly a ported truck intake, i have yet to order my nelson tune. I was thinking a plate kit with a 200 shot single stage, when i can grab ahold of the button between shifting gears what sorta setup r u running lambo?

Call the guys at NitrousOutlet and tell them what you want. If you go cheap, you add a large error factor that can lead to blowing your engine. Your factory intank fuel pump may supply enough fuel for 500 total HP, after that you need to upgrade the pump or go to a stand alone fuel supply for the nitrous.
