I've been looking into this for a while, wondering what pcm options and harness issues I might run into with a v6 2002 1/2 ton?

to use the DBWire setup you'll need the TAC module and throttle pedal from the same year vehicle the harness came from. Personally I'd go back to a cable pull type throttle body setup from a 99-2002 setup. You should be able to get the complete intake for a decent price, that's all you'll need other than a throttle cable. Getting a wiring harness compatible to your vehicle will be much easier for your to match the wiring back to the original setup if you go back DBC. Be sure to swap the 6L injectors from the DBW intake into the DBC intake, they're often larger in flow rates.

Buy a Haynes manual or get a subscription to Mitchell On Demand via internet. All the V-8 MAFs are the same per year so the V-6 might work too. I'd have to look it up Monday if no one knows. You have an 8.6" 10-bolt. Post the G codes off the SPID label in the glove box and someone can tell you what ratio you have. With a 6 and 5-speed I'll guess 3.73's. Most auto 4.3s had 3.73's and 4.10's back then. An 06 truck engine does not need the wheel swapped...it's the GTO LS2 that does. I'm not sure how an LT4 GEN II clutch will work on a GEN III engine.
Well I was told I can still use my dbw intake and convert to dbc, my friend did an Ls2 swap in the exact same truck as mine, has it converted to cable. I'd like to keep my intake I think I read the 04 and up flow better than the older ones. Yeah I'll have to look into the clutch setup, I was told it would work, hope they weren't wrong. What about the fuel rail, I don't see a return line, how is this set up? Now that you mention you think it has 3.73, I believe I read that, just thought that sounded wrong at the time. Thanks for the help

Your's will have the correct ring in it already. 2007+ has the wrong reluctor for earlier setups.

I've got some more questions. Are the engine sensors the same for an 06 as a 2002, or am I going to have to cut and splice? If I go with the higher output alternator, I believe its 140A, what kind of draw can I realistically have before taking away from the ignition too much, I was wanting to do E fans and possibly water pump but the fans would draw around 60A I believe?

any of the gen3 flywheels would work except the 99-2000 6L models that are flat.

Fans will draw about 25 amps. A 140 with proper connections will be fine. Leave the electric water pump for the trailer queens. Most engine sensors will be the same.
Thanks a lot for your help, I can't wait to get started on this, how about fuel pumps what size should I go with? I want to get the motor to around 400hp in the future. How much can I go with stock injectors before they become an issue? Thanks for all your help,

Get a Walbro pump for it. 255LPH is sufficient flow for your future gains. Nelson Performance - Performance without Sacrificing Drivability can get you the pump you need.
