The TBSS idea hasn't really been out much longer than a Jeep or WTF ever with a HEMIroid.

Hahahahaha if I had $80K to spend it would do better than 11-anything.....
Exactly! That's why I bought a cookie cutter Silverado.

A TBSS just needs a LSX block stroked to a 427 or 454 with some juice, a Finishline Tranny and EFI or HPT and bam you have an easy 10 sec truck. Their is a little more to it than that but you get the picture. It has been done in a Silverado, TBSS, Camaro just about anything with a LS so it is not rocket science. The TBSS may be newer but most of the components are the same.

Like the new Camaro coming out you can start building a motor and tranny for it now and when it's in your hand literally the next week you could be out running 10's or even 9's because it's all the same just the body is different.

LMAO....do you honestly think its that easy to run 10s?!There is alot more to it than just throwing parts at it.To me I can bet that would piss me off if you said that to me...Its alot of work and you make it sound like everybody can do it.Geez...its not just motor tranny and a mailorder tune!.....just my 2 cents.

All I am saying is it is easier to make a 10 sec LSX than a 10 sec Hemi because the road has been payved already.

The components in the Hemi are newer and their is not as much aftermarket support. Two years ago if you tried to buy a forged crank, pistons, or rods you could not do so as nobody made them. Even the little things like bearings, ARP studs and head gaskets were no where to be found. Now they more available but a lot more expensive. Next they started breaking trannies, axles and diffs. Then they ran into fuel issues then finally the brick wall as their was no tuning. So when people compare the Hemi to the LSX it is like apples to oranges right now. You can't just say "Oh a built engine/tranny in a LSX would be in the 10's easily especially with 40K" because the Hemi is still in its infancy.

Do you not agree with me that a person with a Camaro or a TBSS can pick up the phone and call TSP and order a 427 then call Finishline and order a 4L80 and have them delivered by the end of the week to Nelson for install and tuning plus a Trick turbo and/or nitrous and have it dialed in for a 10 sec run. Is this not possible!

I am not taking anything away from the LSX in fact there are new avenues being used even now. I love how Flaco is able to do a new setup and run 9's and maybe 8's later with better suspension and more juice. But I also have to give credit to the Hemi cummunity for what they have done so far with what they have and not just saying "Oh well they should be runing better than that".

BTW, not everyone can do it as some don;t have the DIY no how and/or the $$$ to do it.

I understand what your are saying about following others combos and letting them do all the R&D... But, saying that you can just buy pieces of the puzzle and just slap it together is just not true. It's more to it than just that. The guys that are running the fast times on this site have worked hard over the months if not years to get their combos dialed in.

No harm, no foul. Don't just come in and say that with this you can just do that and BAM! you got it. And yes the tuning for the Hemi's is far behind where us LS based guys are. There is another Jeep that should surpass that 10.80 run here really soon. SRT8Jeep on this site just invested in another tune for his Jeep and I'm very interested to see the results. Tuning is coming around for them.

exactly give the hemi's a couple years they'll catch up, ls motors have 5 years more of aftermarket r&d, plus the aftermarket has always been worlds bigger for gm produsts in comparison to dodge.

    It is all good.

BTW, I have a 2005 Ram Hemi with a 6.7L/413 ci(stroked 6.1L Hemi) and a 2003 Silverado with a 6.7L/408 ci(stroked 6.0L Vortech) so I can say from experiance that it is easier and cheaper to do the LSX's than the Hemi's.

I am hoping to do 10's in both once the turbo's are installed.
