insurance money = cam money for VHO

Hey everboby. As you guys may know that my truck was broke into after the dyno meet in DFW a couple weeks back. Well now all the insurance b/s is finally coming along and I have decieded to use the money from my fancy radio to do a cam swap. There are a couple out there that I have my eye on, the 228/228, and the Torquer V2 cam both from texas speed. I want an very aggresive cam, but im not sure if this is too much before I work on the top end. What are your thoughts...

I think you should go bigger.

I ran the TR 224, and it was OK.

So do yall think that the Torquer V2 will be just right? Alot of guys are telling me to go with it since sometime in the near future my heads and intake will be addressed. But will it be ok until then? Im not very cam savy so maybe someone can give me some good nubers for a custom grind. Anyways, I got to get it in before the 21st of this month cause im gettin a live tune from Nelson.

    Thanks
    Chris

Nobody? Come on you guys... Im trying to get this stuff settled before my live tune appointment with nelson. So any info will help.
The V2 is what im really leaning towards. I want the V3 but I dont have any head work done so that might be a problem... or will it?

    Thanks

Get with Allen and get his opinion. He's done so many cams he can tell you which one will be better for your application. Contact the guys that make those cams and get their opinions, too.

I saw some numbers posted by TSP that showed the 228R putting down some solid numbers on stock LS1 heads compared to their other cams without killing the TQ curve. It was the smallest cam in the testing and put down right about the same peak TQ and was down less than 20hp from the biggest cam. That's the cam I'm going with when it's time.
