i had a local truck company here tell me that headers wont work on my truck. something to do with the obd2 sensor or something. anyone have any idea why? i want to buy headers but dont have any idea which one will work. i want something that is basically a direct bolt on.

the reason they tell you this is that most after market headers get rid of the Catalytic converters, basically with no cats, the rear 02 sensors are gonna go nuts and throw codes all day long. big deal, you can get a performance tune and have them turned off, or buy some 02 simulators that will pretend like there are cats on there. there are a million different choices:

    Pacesetters
    Stainless Works
    DynoMaxx
and many more. any thing will work, but thats why they tell you that.

Run 2002 Corvette rear 02 sensors up front on your truck and the headers will work great. Not sure if you're 4wd or not since you dont have a signature file, they pacesetters can sometimes be a hairy install on them but can be made to work with a little convincing. Guys have been having a lot of luck with the OBX stainless headers on the 4wd trucks, i hear.

They are made for measuring cooler exhaust pulses than the ones up next to the manifolds. The trouble with headers is they shed off exhaust heat that the 02 sensors are expecting to see. My engine picked up MPG just from swapping good LS1 sensors to the Corvette rears and they switch voltage up and down very nicely according to Allen.
