Well after reading Garrisons about garrisons tranny about to die its about time to think about wut tranny to buy...got a few questions....

1. I need to get a two piece driveshaft(I've noticied alot more vibration from it above 90 mph especially since the gear swap) looking for a local shop that can make it and install it...anyone no a place?

2. Since I am gonna do a two piece I need to figure out which tranny to go with built 4l60e or 4l80e just because the lengths will be different. I know both can hold the power level im looking for but dont really want to mess with the conversion to a 4l80e but i will if enough of you guys think that would be the best route.

3.I do plan on putting a blower on in the future but I am not looking for stupid power...just close to 450-500 rwhp...my current build up has been geared toward that...

Get a professionally built HP driveshaft from Dennys Driveshaft. They know their stuff.

thanks for chiming in red...so you dont think i need a two piece?...where are they located? and Are they steel or aluminum?

The one's I have seen them build are steel. I would only do steel in a two piece but that's just my choice. You could do aluminum one piece or even a carbon fibre one piece if its not over 70" long.

Driveshaft stuff? No clue. Let Greg figure that out.

Tranny--do a LVL 5 65e. It will be fine. Just make sure to have it warrantied.

Another thing (no offense Garrisson), but Garrisson beats the $hit out of his tranny. It was only a matter of time before something took a poop. Garrisson's truck does look good--and makes good power--which is the reason for the stock parts to be failing. 340+ rwhp on a stock tranny is pushing the limit, but when you beat on it all of the time, stuff is gunna go South faster than normal. You can have a truck with 340+ rwhp and have the tranny last longer, but you have to drive it like a grandma (or Ricky), but then what is the use in having 340+ rwhp?? Exactly. If Garrisson wasn't so hard on it, he might have gotten about 10-15k more miles out of it--but it would have eventually gone out. BUT, it isn't a bad thing to think about since you will be going FI sooner or later.
