    94 truck + 03 engine/trans...what are my throttle options?

as far as i understand it, 03+ had electronic throttles? Given this engine (if i get it) will be going into my 94 z71 which is obviously cable throttle, what are my options for addressing this? Is the swap back to cable fairly inexpensive and easy, or would it be easier to run with the electronic setup and switchover whatever is necessary on my 94 to accomodate it? Also, i was told the 02 would be the best year with the 0411 PCM, cable throttle, etc, is the 03 relatively the same as far as ease of use for the swap aside from the thottle body setup?

    thanks

You'll need a DBCable intake and throttle body, wiring harness and 411 pcm. Sounds like you've got the general idea so far.

Since he has TBI, will the throttle cable be too short? Would he need on from 96+ Vortec motor?

*ahem i just ran into this problem this weekend with 91 style TBI cable*

    wonder the same as r6z.

Red: can it be easily made to work with the 03 harness, just swapping the PCM (easy right?) intake and throttle body? I was gettin the idea from other threads on the topic that the wiring was relatively the same? Will an 02 harness be absolutely necessary?

the two engines i currently have my eyes on are both 03's, low miles decent price so hopefully its easy to make work and not too costly

you must have the correct wires for the sensors on the harness for a DBCable vs DBWire. I don't know if Nelson Performance can make the DBWire harness for you to add to the existing harness or not. You can cut out the DBW setup and the add the DBC harness and then be good to go if they will make you a harness for that. If not, you can send the whole harness to them and they can do a complete conversion to a 4 wire install.

i guess related to this, first of all do i have the option of maintaining the electronic throttle and if so, is it a huge PITA to do?

if i were to swap harness/PCM, will it be a straight across thing? the 02 harness will hook right up to the 03 engine all sensors and what not as soon as i get the proper manifold and TB?

last, is the 03 PCM capable of driving either my 94 or possibly upgraded to 95-98 gauges the way the 0411 can?

EDIT: looks like to run with the ETC, i would need the TB, wiring harness, TAC, and also the pedal assembly out of the truck. has anyone mounted up the 03+ truck pedal into an OBS in order to use the ETC? also again will the 0411 PCM be able to control ETC or must it be the 03+ PCM?

    thanks

I thinkt he 411 will work with the ETC if you get the TB, harness and TAC setup from that year.

question to go along with this, i to have a 03 but unfortuntely the DBW pedal and module was already taken from the truck I got the engine out of, will any 03-up pedal and module work or will it have to be specific 03?
